What you see very frequently in people’s professional life – and perhaps in their emotional life as well – is that they lose interest in that… in the third act you sort of get tired and indifferent and sometimes defensive and you kind of lose your capacity of astonishment, and that’s a great loss because the world is a very astonishing place.
So I think what I feel fortunate about is that I am still astonished that things still amaze me and I think that that’s a great benefit of being in the arts, where the possibility for learning never disappears: we basically have to admit “you’ve never learnt it”.»

Una cosa di un altro mondo

Tutto comincia con un ragù e con la pentola di coccio che Maria Rita ci regala, perché per fare un buon ragù una pentola di acciaio non va bene. Un bel tegame di terracotta smaltata, costato al tempo 9.200 lire (un dettaglio che mi ha fatto tenerezza).
Così come mi ha fatto sorridere con sorpresa l’ultima riga dell’etichetta, che dice: «Grazie per la preferenza accordataci».
Una attenzione al cliente che mi ha fatto pensare, che mi ha fatto cercare una marca che oggi mi ringrazia per aver acquistato un suo prodotto. Non mi è venuta in mente, forse perché non ci ho mai fatto caso, forse perché non c’è più. Una cosa di un altro mondo?
Immagino un mondo in cui le marche mi ringraziano dopo un acquisto (forse sono gli anni 50 stereotipati dei film americani…). Vorrei che i miei lovemarks mi sorridessero, mi facessero trovare un cioccolatino dentro la scatola con scritto grazie. Sì, sarebbe proprio un bel mondo.
